Description

Cursed Broom is a 2D platformer with a pixel art style. After Maya falls into the sewers of her hometown, she meets Robbyn, a young witch. Alongside her newfound friend, Maya finds a flying broomstick that she learns to control, even though it won't work quite as advertised. After she discovers the origins of the Cursed Broom, she decides to travel to the witch city to begin her training, but when her powers start to fade, she begins to question what it means to be a witch and who she really is...

History

Cursed Broom is being developed by Cursed Creations, a team of three students studying at the University of Bayreuth. During one of their courses, Daniel and Tina developed an idea for a novel approach to 2D platforming. They soon started brainstorming ideas and developed a first concept. After spending some time on documenting all of their thoughts, they brought in Nic, who quickly started developing ideas for a soundtrack. Since they were brought in so early in the process, Audio has become a crucial part of the design process. The game has moved into the prototype phase in mid February of 2023.
